**DANGEROUS TRAVEL CENTRAL IOWA**

I-80 travel:

1 worst; 10 best

3- an icy mix over Central Iowa have dropped a minor ice accumulation across central Iowa and allowed travel to be difficult west of the Des Moines area. Snow may cover this ice so remain cautious on I-80.

I-35 Travel:

1 worst; 10 best

4- Icy conditions remain a contradiction near Des Moines along the I-35 corridor into Ames through Des Moines. This is mor north of where major ice accumulations occurred in western Iowa, however a glaze of Ice is still on the roadways for this area as well. Temperatures are below freezing so ice should remain tomorrow morning.

Thanksgiving Showers

Rain Showers:
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you had a great day, I know I did! So we had some showers today that clipped our area on and off all day. Moderate rain is currently falling. NAM composite models earlier on predicted some thunderstorms embedded into this weak line of rain. No thunderstorms are being seen anywhere  across the midwestern regions. We could have seen some thunderstorm activities but it just isn't warm enough. A cold front is draped across Central Illinois. Ahead of the front, Temperatures remain in the lower 60's and lower 70's further east of the front. Behind the front, Temperatures are in the low 40's and further west behind the front 30's. Thunderstorms could be possible south into Southern Illinois, and Central Indiana if the line of showers escape ahead of the front. Behind the front the temperatures are just too inadequate for any thunderstorm development with this line.

Temperatures:
Above we mentioned low 40's and even some 30's behind the front and ice further south in the upper teens located in western Iowa. Ahead of the front temperatures have boosted to the mid 60's and 70's as far East as indiana. When this front dominates the region temperatures won't leave the upper 30's. That will stick as the case overnight and even tomorrow. Temperatures struggle to remain in the upper 30's the next 2 weeks.

Severe Weather:
The next chance for rain will remain low until next weekend were we may see a nice swath of severe weather. As of now predictability is low and it is still extremely far out on te models.
